The largest battery capacity you can get on a laptop is around 99 Whr, which is also the largest lithium-ion battery allowed on an aircraft. Air New Zealand allows lithium-ion (polymer) batteries not exceeding 100 Watt hours (Whr) (see travelling with lithium batteries) in carry-on baggage.
14-inch laptops or smaller may have a smaller 70 Whr or less battery due to physical constraints.
