This article applies to brand new official channel products only and is not applicable to parallel-imported, refurbished, ex-display, ex-lease or second-hand products.

Your product is most likely not officially registered with the manufacturer yet. Many manufacturers use the date that the device comes out from the factory as the default warranty start date. To show the correct warranty start date, you will need to register with the manufacturer. Please refer to the links at the bottom of the article for details on how to register a product.

Product registration is optional. You do not normally need to register a product with the manufacturer. If you ever require any service under warranty, your proof of purchase from Just Laptops will be more than sufficient and recognised by the manufacturer and their official NZ service provider(s) in New Zealand.

Just Laptops is an authorised retailer for many brands so rest assured that warranty starts from your date of purchase instead of the manufacturing date. It will not impact your warranty claims should any hardware issue arise.

If it really bothers you and you really wish to see a correctly updated date from the software, you may email us with the serial number of your device. We can submit a request to the manufacturer to update the warranty start date on your behalf. There are no additional benefits other than seeing the updated date from the control centre software that the manufacturer provides.
