There are several ways to reset Windows 11.

Method (1): Using the manufacturer's factory recovery tool (reset method varies by model, and may not available after a storage upgrade/change)

Method (2): Using Windows 10 built-in "Reset my PC" tool

Method (3): Using a Windows 10 USB Installation Media

Today, we're going to cover Method (3) how to reset Windows 11 via a USB Installation Media. You'll need a functioning Windows PC with an Internet connection. Let's get started!

(1) Go to Microsoft's Website and download the Windows 11 Installation Media Creation Tool. Under "Create Windows 11 Installation Media" section, click on the "Download now" button and run the program.

(2) Follow the on-screen instruction, accept the Terms & Conditions. On the "What do you want to do?" screen, selection "Create installation media (USB flash drive, DVD, or ISO file) for another PC.

(3) On the "Select language, architecture, and edition" screen, make sure the "Use the recommended options for this PC" is selected. The default option is good enough for most people. Click "next" to continue.

(4) On the "Choose which media to use" screen, select "USB flash drive". Make sure that you have inserted an empty USB flash drive with at least 8GB of storage to your PC. Click "Next" to continue.

(5) On the "Select a USB flash drive" screen, select the USB flash drive you have just inserted. If you don't see the USB flash drive, you may click on the "Refresh drive list" link. Please remove any unnecessary external USB hard drives or flash drive not related to this task to avoid formatting these devices accidentally. Click "Next" to continue.

(6) The program will start downloading Windows 11 and load the Windows 11 installation media onto your USB flash drive. It may take from several minutes up to several hours depending on your Internet speed. The download size is about 4 - 5GB.

(7) Once you see the "Your USB flash drive is ready" screen, the task is completed. Click on "Finish" to close the program.

(8) Restart your PC or laptop: Click on the "Start" menu, "Power" button and "Restart".

(9) Boot from USB media: While your PC is booting up, look for the POST (Power On Self Test) screen and look for how to boot from a different media, change boot sequence or how to enter the BIOS settings. Normally, it would be the F2, F9 or F10 key but it varies depending on the manufacturer.

Select the USB media that you have just created and boot from it.

(10) Follow all the on-screen instruction and setup Windows 11. If Windows 11 was previously activated, you may simply click "I don't have a product key" button when prompted for a license key. Then, after finish setting up Windows 11, simply connect to the Internet and Windows will verify the digital license online.

(11) Go to the manufacturer's website, find the model of your PC or laptop, download and install all the necessary drivers.
